I wanted to be a landscape architect
When I was in 8th grade, I had to make a “what I want to be when I grow up” poster.
I picked landscape architect.
Did I like to garden? Absolutely not.
Why did I choose it? Because I knew I could design an A+ poster.
I knew my audience—my teacher was partial to design.
I had content—my camera roll was full of flowers from my mom’s garden.
And I had skill —a suspiciously strong instinct for layout.
I don’t have the poster anymore, but that instinct never really left. It just evolved into designing B2B experiences that make complex ideas easier to understand.
And I’ve got the work to prove it.
